Andrew Heyward(born October 29, 1950) is a former President ofCBS News,serving from January 1996 until early November 2005.[1][2]He is a principal at MarketspaceNext and Heyward Advisory LLC.

He is the son of UNICEF deputy-executive directorDick Heywardand Russian-born interpreterElisabeth Heyward.He has three children: David and Emily, both of whom work in New York City, andSarah,a writer forHBO'sGirls.He is married to Priscilla Painton, executive editor atSimon & Schuster.His first marriage to Jody Gaylin ended in divorce.[3]

Heyward's successor atCBS NewswasSean McManus,head ofCBS Sports.

Heyward is played byBruce Greenwoodin the2015movieTruth.

He graduated fromHarvard College1972 with a B.A. in history and literature and was elected toPhi Beta Kappa.[4]
