Ann Leonard(born 2 January 1969) is a formerFianna Fáilpolitician fromCounty MonaghaninIreland.[1]She was asenatorfrom 1997 to 2002, and is the daughter ofJimmy Leonard,a formerTeachta Dála(TD) forCavan–Monaghan.[2]

A paediatric nurse andmidwife,Leonard unsuccessfully contested the1997 general electionin theCavan–Monaghanconstituency, and after her defeat she wasnominated by the TaoiseachBertie Ahern,to the21st Seanad.At the1999 local elections,she was elected toMonaghan County Councilfor theCloneselectoral area, but stood down from the council at the2004 local electionsand did not stand in any further elections.[3]
