Theantilopinesareeven-toed ungulatesbelonging to thesubfamilyAntilopinaeof the familyBovidae.The members of tribeAntilopiniare often referred to as trueantelopes,and include thegazelles,blackbucks,springboks,gerenuks,dibatags,and Central Asian gazelles. True antelopes occur in much of Africa and Asia, with the highest concentration of species occurring inEast AfricainSudan,Eritrea,Ethiopia,Somalia,Kenya,andTanzania.Thesaiga(tribeSaigini) inhabits Central and Western Asia, mostly in regions from theTibetan Plateauand north of theIndian Subcontinent.The dwarf antelope species of tribeNeotraginilive entirely in sub-Saharan Africa.
