TheArctic Basin(alsoNorth Polar Basin) is anoceanic basinin theArctic Ocean,consisting of two main parts separated by theLomonosov Ridge,amid-ocean ridgebetween northGreenlandand theNew Siberian Islands.It is bordered by thecontinental shelvesofEurasiaandNorth America.[1][2]

Exploration
[edit]Fridtjof NansenandOtto Sverdrupsailed the basin in theFramfrom 1893 to 1896.Between 1922 and 1924,Roald Amundsenfollowed in theMaud.
