Arie Lamme

Arie Lamme(8 January 1748 – 18 March 1801) was a Dutchlandscape painterand poet.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Lamme was born atHeerjansdamand studied underJoris PonseatUtrecht;he practiced in the style ofAelbert Cuyp.He was much engaged on decorative work, and was also a poet. His daughter,Cornelia,married the painterJohann Baptist Schefferand was the mother ofAryandHendrik Scheffer.He died inDordrecht,aged 53.
