Asakazu Nakai(Trung giếng triều một,Nakai Asakazu,29 August 1901 – 28 February 1988)was a Japanesecinematographerborn inHyōgo Prefecture,best known for his work withAkira Kurosawa.[1]In 1950, he won theMainichi Film Award for Best CinematographyforStray Dog.[2]He was nominated for theAcademy Award for Best Cinematographyfor his work on the filmRan(1985), being the oldest nominee ever in that category.[citation needed]
