Avram Goldstein

Avram Goldstein(3 July 1919 – 1 June 2012) was a professor of pharmacology who was one of the discoverers ofendorphinsand a noted expert on addiction.[1]

Goldstein established the Pharmacology Department atStanford University School of Medicine.[2]He was awarded theFranklin Medaland was elected to theNational Academy of Sciences.He was an atheist.[3]He was married to pharmacologistDora Goldstein.[4]
