History
[edit]From 1900 to 1953 the village was served byBattyeford railway stationon theLeeds New Line.[1]
Governance
[edit]The village is part of thecivil parishofMirfield,and part of theMirfieldwardof the metropolitan borough ofKirklees.The borough council is ametropolitan boroughofWest Yorkshire.
Religious sites
[edit]Christ the King in Battyeford is anAnglicanchurch and part of theDiocese of Wakefield.[2]It was built in 1973 on the site of the original Christ Church which was built in 1841 and destroyed by fire in 1971.[3]
