Braidis one of the seven district electoral areas (DEA) inMid and East Antrim,Northern Ireland.^[1]The district elects seven members toMid and East Antrim District Counciland contains the wards of Ballee and Harryville, Broughshane, Glenravel, Glenwhirry, Kells, Kirkinriola and Slemish.^[2]Braid forms part of the North Antrim constituencies for theNorthern Ireland AssemblyandUK Parliament.

It was created for the1993 local elections,where it contained five wards (Broughshane, Craigywarren, Glenravel, Glenwhirry and Slemish), replacing theBraid Valley DEAwhich had existed since 1985. For the2014 local electionsit gained two additional wards, gaining Ballee and Harryville and Kells from the abolishedBallymena South DEA.
