Brent Morin(born August 31, 1986)[1]is an American stand-up comedian and actor.[2]He was a panelist in the sixth season ofChelsea Latelyand played Justin Kearney on theNBCsitcomUndateable,[3]Matt on theNetflixseriesMerry Happy Whatever,and the agent Hobbs on the sci-fi web-seriesCrunch Time,onRooster Teeth.[4]In 2015, Morin released hisstand-up comedyshow,I'm Brent Morin,exclusively onNetflix.[5]

Early life

Morin is the son of two inner city high school English teacher parents.[6]Morin has an older brother, who was a concert pianist, and a younger brother, who is a doctor. He graduated fromSouth Windsor High School.[6]He is of Irish and Italian background.[7]

Career

Morin moved to Los Angeles at 18 to study at a film school atColumbia College Hollywood.[8]Although he graduated with a film degree, Morin started doing stand-up and eventually decided that was what he wanted to do.[6]Morin has said that he was inspired by his idols,Albert BrooksandWoody Allen.[8]After graduation, he worked as a production assistant withConan O'BrienonThe Tonight Show with Conan O'BrienonNBCand continued withConanonTBS.[6][9]He went from being a general office production assistant to becoming the set production assistant/Andy Richter'sstand-in.[10]Morin has appeared regularly as a stand-up comic on shows withThe Comedy Store,The ImprovandLaugh Factory,[11]as well as on tours throughout the United States.[12]In his network TV debut, Morin co-starred in theBill LawrenceNBC seriesUndateable,[13]a multi-camera sitcom with a live audience, which was based on the bookUndateable: 311 Things Guys Do That Guarantee They Won't Be Dating or Having Sexby Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle.[14]

Morin portrayed Justin Kearney, the owner of Black Eyes Bar and hopeless romantic roommate of Danny (played byChris D'Elia).Undateablewas unique in that it was a cast full of stand-up comedians who were good friends before the show aired. The show often incorporates improv, with Morin playing Felix to D'Elia's grouch Oscar à laThe Odd Couple.[15][16][17]Lawrence and the cast (Chris D'Elia,Morin,Ron Funches,andRick Glassman) went on a series of stand-up tour dates, with an appearance on@midnightto promote the show.[18][19]In 2016, Morin was cast for theRooster Teethweb series,Crunch Time.In 2018, he appeared on the second season ofNetflix'sThe Standups,performing a half-hour special.[20]

Morin previously dated actress Angie Simms, confirming their relationship in 2016,[21][22]and breakup in 2017.[23]
