TheBritish high commission in Dar es Salaam(Swahili:Ubalozi wa Uingereza) is thediplomatic missionof theUnited KingdominTanzania.It is located on Hamburg Avenue in theIlala District.The currentBritish high commissioner to Tanzaniais David Concar since August 2020.[1]

As fellow members of theCommonwealth of Nations,the United Kingdom and Tanzania conduct their diplomatic relations atgovernmentallevel, rather than betweenheads of state.Therefore, the countries exchangehigh commissioners,rather thanambassadors.The UK has had a high commissioner to Tanzania since it was formed in 1964 from the union of theRepublic of Tanganyikaand thePeople's Republic of Zanzibar and Pemba.
The high commissioner to Tanzania is also UK Representative to theEast African Communityand also represents theBritish Overseas Territoriesin Tanzania.
Umoja House, the seven-story office building that hosts the High Commission is also home to the embassies of The Netherlands and Germany. It was designed by British architectMichael Manserand completed in 2002.[2]
