Burchmullo(Uzbek:Burchmullo,Russian:Бурчмулла,romanized:Burchmulla,formerlyBrichmulla) is anurban-type settlementin the northeast ofTashkent Region,Uzbekistan.It is part ofBoʻstonliq District.[1]Its population is 4,100 (2016).[2]It lies by theKoksu Rivernear its inflow into theCharvak Reservoirby the southwestern extremity of theKoksu Ridge,westTian Shan.It is about 120 km NEE fromTashkent.[3]
ANeanderthalarchaeological siteexists near Burchmullo. In mediaeval times, Burchmullo was an important town, fortress and mining location. Polymetallic and otherdepositsare known in the area, includingarsenic,bismuth,leadandsilver.In the 18-19th centuriesgoldwas extracted by washing throughwoolcarpets[3]
Burchmullo is also known inRussian culturedue to the songBrich-MullabyTatyana and Sergey Nikitin.
