Clube Desportivo de Montijocommonly known as simply asMontijowas afootballclub from the city ofMontijo,Setúbal.[1]The club was founded in 1948 and folded in 2007 due to financial problems. As Clube Desportivo de Montijo, it played in thePrimeira Ligaon three occasions in the 1972–73, 1973–74, 1976–77 seasons.[2][3][4]FormerPortuguese internationalgoalkeeperRicardoplayed for the club between 1994 and 1995 before being transferred toBoavista.[5]

After it folded in 2007 it restarted asClube Olímpico do Montijoon the 11 July 2007.[6]The current Montijo team plays at theCampo da Liberdadewhich holds aseating capacityof 1000.[7]As Clube Olímpico do Montijo it currently plays in theCampeonato de Portugal.
