Capo Milazzo Lighthouse(Italian:Faro di Capo Milazzo) is an activelighthouselocated at the northern extremity of the peninsula ofCapo di Milazzowhich extends toward theTyrrhenian Seain the province ofMilazzo.

Description

The first lighthouse was built in 1853, than rebuilt in 1891 and recently restored in 2013. It consists of a massive white cylindrical tower with four buttresses, 34 metres (112 ft) high, with balcony and lantern The lantern, painted in grey metallic, is positioned at 90 metres (300 ft)above sea leveland emitsone long white flashin a 6 seconds period, visible at 16 nautical miles (30 km; 18 mi) of distance. The lighthouse is fully automated, powered by asolar unitand is operated by theMarina Militareand is identified by the code number 3268 E.F.[2]
