Hamilton de Souza(born 27 September 1968 inPassos, Minas Gerais), better known asCarecaorCareca II,is a formerBrazilianfootballerwho played as astriker.[1]
Careca II played for several Brazilian clubs asCruzeiro,Atlético MineiroandCoritibaand also forSporting CPinPortugal.
Careca competed for Brazil at the1988 Summer Olympics.[2]In the first round, he started three times in the front line with the famedRomáriobut did not score and was each time substituted forBebeto.Careca also played each of Brazil's three games in theknock-out stagesand won the silver medal, after Brazil lost the final against theSoviet Union.[3]
Careca II played four games for the Brazil national football team but did not score.[4]
In 2008, he served as assistant coach of the youth team ofAtlético Mineiro.
Personal life
[edit]In July 2015, his son Hamilton de Souza Junior, signed a contract to play forBiu Chun Rangersin the2015–16 Hong Kong Premier League.[5]
