Carl Evans

Carl Evans(born 16 August 1990 inAuckland) is a New Zealand sailor who representedNew Zealand at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Evans attendedGreen Bay High Schooland sailed for theKohimarama Yacht Club.[1]

He made his international sailing debut in the 2003 North AmericanOptimistchampionships.[1]In 2006 he won theTanner Cup,sailing aP-class sailing dinghy.

Evans later competed in the420class and partneredPeter Burling.In 2006 they won the420 World Championshipsin Spain. They defended their title in 2007 in Auckland.

In 2008, they competed in theBeijing Olympicswhere they placed11 out of 29 teams.[2]
