Chōfu Station(Điều bố dịch,Chōfu-eki)is a junction passengerrailway stationlocated in the city ofChōfu, Tokyo,Japan, operated by the private railway operatorKeio Corporation.[1]
Lines[edit]
Chōfu Station is served by theKeio LineandKeiō Sagamihara Lineas the junction of the two lines. It is located 15.5 kilometers (9.6 mi) from the starting point of the Keio Line atShinjuku Stationand is aterminusof the 22.6-kilometer (14.0 mi) Sagamihara Line.
Station layout[edit]
The station has two undergroundisland platforms:one in the second basement (Platforms 1 and 2) and one in the third basement (Platforms 3 and 4). Ticket windows and gates are in the first basement.[2]

History[edit]
The station opened on April 15, 1913 when Keiō Electric Railway opened its first section betweenSasazukaand Chōfu as anInterurban.[3]
Recent development[edit]
Until 2012, Chofu Station was on the ground level and had busygrade crossingsat either end for road traffic, while trains arriving from theKeio Sagamihara Lineblocked both lines of theKeio Lineas they enter the station.Keio Corporationresolved both these issues bygrade separatingthe railway lines around the station area. Underground tracks opened on August 19, 2012.[4]
