TheChalus River(Persian:رود چالوس,romanized:Rud-e Čālūs),[1]orChalus Rudis a major river located in central−northernIran.It originates in the Kandovan andTaleghanmountains and passes through the city ofChalusinMazandaran Province.

The river flows northward through the CentralAlborz mountain range,to itsriver mouthon the southernCaspian Sea.
