Charles Joseph Tear(born 12 June 2004) is a Scottishcricketerwho played aswicket-keeper-batter forScotland.[3]He also played forScotland national under-19 cricket teamin the2022 Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup.[4][5]

Domestic career[edit]

In May 2022, Tear signed his first professional contract withSussex.[6]He made hisfirst-classdebut for Sussex againstDurhamin2022 County Championshipon 20 September 2022.[7]He made hisList Adebut for Sussex againstGloucestershirein2022 One-Day Cupon 18 August 2023.[8]

In April 2024 Gloucestershire signed him on loan from Sussex for two weeks.[9][10][11]

International career[edit]

In February 2024, he was named in Scotland's ODI squad for the2024 United Arab Emirates Tri-Nation Serieswhich was the part of2023–2027 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.[12]He made hisOne Day Internationaldebut againstUnited Arab Emirateson 3 March 2024, in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.[13][14]In the same month he was named in Scotland's T20I squad for the seriesagainst UAE.[15][16]He made hisTwenty20 Internationaldebut againstUnited Arab EmiratesatDubai International Cricket Stadium,on 13 March 2024.[17]

In May 2024, he was named in Scotland’s squad for the2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cuptournament.[18]
