Chirupeople is aZoethnic group[3]that mostly resides inManipurand some inAssam,India.They are listed as aScheduled Tribe,in accordance with TheScheduled Castes and Scheduled TribesOrders (Amendment) Act, 1976Indian Constitution.[4] They useMeitei languageas theirsecond language(L2) according to theEthnologue.[5]
