Chloé Lericheis aCanadianfilm director fromMontreal,Quebec.[1]Her debut feature film,Before the Streets(Avant les rues),received sixCanadian Screen Awardnominations at the5th Canadian Screen Awardsin 2017, includingBest Pictureand a nod for Leriche asBest Director.[2]

Leriche, a largely self-taught filmmaker,[1]made a number of short films and worked as an educator with film and video training programs for homeless youth andFirst Nations,[3]before writing and directingBefore the Streets.[4]Her most noted short film,The Schoolyard(Les Grands),was named to theToronto International Film Festival's annualCanada's Top Tenlist for short films in 2007.[5]

Before the Streetswon theBorsos Competitionaward for best picture, and Leriche won the award for best director, at the 2016Whistler Film Festival.[6]At the 2016Directors Guild of Canadaawards, Leriche won theDGC Discovery Award.[7]

Her second feature film,Atikamekw Suns(Soleils Atikamekw),premiered at the2023 Festival du nouveau cinéma,[8]and was shortlisted for the 2023 DGC Discovery Award.[9]
