Christine F. Chandler[2](néeGray;born June 21, 1958)[2][3]is an American politician, lawyer, and former judge serving as a member of theNew Mexico House of Representativesfrom the 43rd district.[4]

Early life and education

Chandler was born inNorthampton, Massachusetts.She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics fromSmith College,Juris Doctorfrom theBoston College Law School,andMaster of Lawsin international and comparative law from theGeorgetown University Law Center.[5]

Career

Prior to serving in the House, Chandler was a probate judge for the Los Alamos County Probate Court from August 2013 to February 2016. Chandler was a member of the Los Alamos County Council and has operated a private law practice.[6]She served as chair of the council in 1999 and vice chair in 2018.[7][8]She served as senior counsel atLos Alamos National Security.Chandler took office on January 15, 2019, succeeding retiring Democratic incumbentStephanie Garcia Richard,who was electedNew Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands.[9]
