Ventura International(orVENTURA_INT) is an 8-bitcharacter encodingcreated byVentura Softwarefor use withVentura Publisher.[1]Ventura International is based on theGEM character set,but ¢ and ø are swapped and ¥ and Ø are swapped so that it is more similar tocode page 437(on which GEM was based, but GEM is more similar tocode page 865because the placement of Ø and ø in GEM match the placement in code page 865). There is also thePCL Ventura International,which is used for communication with PCL printers. PCL Ventura International is based onHP Roman-8.Both have the samecharacter set,but a different encoding.

Code page 898is an adaptation ofcode page 437which moves some characters around like Ventura International does for multilingual word processing.[3]

Each character appears with its equivalentUnicodecode-point. Note that the section sign and the space have two representations.[4]
