Death effector domain containing proteinis aproteinthat in humans is encoded by theDEDDgene.[5][6][7]

Function

[edit]

This gene encodes a protein that contains a death effectordomain(DED). DED is aprotein–protein interactiondomain shared by adaptors, regulators and executors of theprogrammed cell deathpathway.Overexpressionof this gene was shown to induce weakapoptosis.Upon stimulation, this protein was found totranslocatefrom cytoplasm to nucleus and colocalize withUBTF,a basal factor required forRNA polymerase Itranscription, in thenucleolus. At least three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.[7]
