ThetribeDalbergieaeis an early-branchingcladewithin theflowering plantsubfamilyFaboideae(or Papilionaceae). Within that subfamily, it belongs to an unranked clade called thedalbergioids.[1][3][4]It was recentlyrevisedto include many genera formerly placed in tribes Adesmieae and Aeschynomeneae[5]and to be included in amonophyleticgroup informally known as the dalbergioidssensu lato.[1][3][4]The members of this tribe have a distinctiveroot nodulemorphology, often referred to as an "aeschynomenoid" or "dalbergioid" nodule.[1][5]
