Darren Britt(born 9 October 1969) is an Australian formerrugby leaguefootballer who played as apropin the 1990s and 2000s.

He played forWestern Suburbsand theCanterbury-Bankstown Bulldogsin theNRL.He also represented theAustraliannational side.[3]

Career

Britt captained Canterbury in 92 first grade matches in 1996 and on a full-time basis during 1998–2001, second only toTerry Lambwho led them on 120 occasions.

Britt played at prop forward and captained theCanterbury-Bankstown Bulldogsin their loss at the1998 NRL grand finalto theBrisbane Broncos.[4]Britt was selected for theAustralian teamto compete in the end of season1999 Rugby League Tri-Nationstournament. In the final againstNew Zealandhe played at prop forward in the Kangaroos' 22–20 victory.

Britt played two seasons in theSuper Leaguewith English clubSt. Helensin 2002 and 2003. He played forSt. Helensatpropin their2002 Super League Grand Finalvictory against theBradford Bulls.Having wonSuper League VI,St Helens contested the2003 World Club Challengeagainst 2002 NRL Premiers, theSydney Roosters.Britt played atpropin Saints' 38–0 loss.

Since retirement he has served on theNRL Judiciary.[5][6]
