Dawro people

TheDawroare a people of southernEthiopia,also known as theOmete.They speak theDawragna language.

During the nineteenth century, the Dawro lived in an independent state known as the Kingdom of Dawro. In 2000, theDawro Zonewas split off from the formerSemien Omo Zonein theSouthern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region.It consists of theworedasofIsara Tocha,Loma Bosa,andMareka Gena.
