Antoine DeRay Davis(born February 26, 1982) is an American stand-up comedian and actor.[1]He is known for his role as Ray the Hustle Guy in theBarbershopfilms and as host ofHip Hop Squares.He is also known for his collaboration and appearances in several audio skits byKanye West.
Life and career
[edit]Davis was born inChicago, Illinois.He began his career in comedy clubs. Shortly after moving toLos Angeles,he won theComedy CentralLaugh Riots Competition and appeared on theCedric the EntertainerTour. Known for his role as Ray the Hustle Guy inBarbershopandBarbershop 2: Back in Business,[2]Davis has also appeared in other films, includingSemi-Pro,21 Jump Street,[3][4]andHow High 2.Davis' television roles and appearances have included programs such asComedy Central'sReno 911,BET'sComicView,FOX'sEmpire,MTV'sWild 'n OutandShort Circuitz,FX'sSnowfall,andHBO'sEntourage.He hosted his first game show,Mind of a Man,onGame Show Network,and later appeared on theOxygenreality showLiving with Funny.[2]He is also the host of the revival ofHip Hop Squaresproduced & narrated byIce Cube.[5]
The comedian also sounds on several skits onrapperKanye West's albumsThe College DropoutandLate Registration,impersonatingBernie Macin both album's opening tracks "Intro" and "Wake Up Mr. West", and appearing as the lead of the fictitious fraternity "Broke Phi Broke."[6]Davis, also appeared in West's music video for "Through the Wire."Other music video appearances for Davis includeLil' Flip's "Game Over (Flip)",Chris Brown's "Yo (Excuse Me Miss),"[7]Three 6 Mafia's "Doe Boy Fresh",Outkast's "Roses",andCassie's "Long Way 2 Go."
