Dov Yaffe(Hebrew:דב יפה;1928–2017) was aPolish-bornIsraelirabbi,mashgiach,and leader of theMusar movement.

Youth

He was born atVilnain June 1928. In 1935, at age 7, he moved with his parents to theLand of Israeland settled inTel Avivwhere he studied atYeshivas Hayishuv Hachadash[he]and afterward at theHebron,Ponevezh,andSlabodkayeshivos.[1][2]

Career

He became the assistant to RabbiElyah Lopianat theKnesses Chizkiyahuyeshiva which relocated toRekhasimin Northern Israel in 1955. While based in Rekhasim, he taughtMusarto thousands of students in Knesses Chizkiyahu, inKarmiel,and inKol Yaakov[he]inJerusalem[1][2]

Family

He was married to Rivka and had six children.[1]

Final illness and death

Prior to his death, he was hospitalized atLaniado HospitalinKiryat Sanz, Netanya.He died on November 8, 2017, at age 89.[1][2]
