Eastern Courier Messengeris a weekly suburban newspaper inAdelaide,part of theMessenger Newspapersgroup. TheEastern Courier'sarea is bounded by South Road to the west, Magill Road to the north, the foothills, and the city.[1]

The newspaper generally reports on events of interest in its distribution area, including the suburbs ofNorwood,Burnside,WayvilleandUnley.It also covers theCity of Unley,City of Mitcham,City of BurnsideandCity of Norwood Payneham St Peterscouncils.

It has a circulation of 62,600 and a readership of 81,000.[2]

In 1949,The Couriernewspaper was established in the Unley/Mitcham area. Meantime, theEastside News Reviewwas formed in 1961 with two editions, Burnside and Campbelltown. In 1965, the twoEastside News Reviewpapers were merged to form theBurnside and Norwood News Review.In 1984,The Courierwas renamed theCourier Messengerand theBurnside and Norwood News Reviewwas renamed theBurnside Messenger.TheBurnside Messenger'snamed was changed after one year to theEastern Suburbs Messenger.In 1993, theEastern Suburbs Messengerand theCourier Messengerwere merged to form theEastern Courier Messenger.[3]
