Emeka Udechuku

Chukwuemeka Udechuku OA//(born 10 July 1979 inPaddington, London) is anEnglishdiscus thrower."Emeka" is a nickname for theIgboname "Chukwuemeka" (meaning "God has done great").[1]

He was the first British athlete to win a gold medal in the men's discus at theEuropean Under 20 Championships.This also represented Britain's first ever gold medal in the men's discus event at European, Commonwealth, World or Olympic level.[2]

His personal best throw is 64.93 metres, achieved in July 2004 inLoughborough.This places him seventh among English discus throwers, behindPerriss Wilkins,Richard Slaney,Glen Smith,Carl Myerscough,Robert WeirandBill Tancred.[3]

He is an alumnus ofDulwich College.[citation needed]

He has a wife and three children, a daughter and two sons who are twins they currently live in Essex and their children attend school.
