Enanthemorenanthemais a rash (small spots) on themucous membranes.[1]It is characteristic of patients with viral infections[2]causinghand foot and mouth disease,measles,and sometimeschicken pox,orCOVID-19.[3]In addition, bacterial infections such asscarlet fevermay also be a cause of enanthema. The aforementioned diseases usually present withexanthemaand enanthema.

Enanthema can also indicatehypersensitivity.[4]
