Erin Dilly(born May 12, 1972) is an American actress. She is most noted for her portrayal ofTruly Scrumptiousin the 2005 musicalChitty Chitty Bang Bang,for which she was nominated for theTony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musicaland theOuter Critics Circle Award.

Career

Dilly was raised inSouthfield,Michiganand graduated fromBirmingham Groves High Schooland theUniversity of Michigan.In 2000, she was announced to play the lead inThoroughly Modern Milliebut left the show, being replaced bySutton Foster.[1]In addition to appearing onBroadwayinChitty Chitty Bang Bangin 2005, she played the role of Cinderella in the 2002 revival ofInto the Woods.

Dilly has performed in regional theatre inKen Ludwig'sLeading Ladiesat theCleveland Play House[2]and theAlley Theatre,Houston,Texas (2004).[3]She also was "The Younger Woman" inPutting It Togetherat the Cape Playhouse, Massachusetts. She has performed in the national tour companies ofSouth Pacificas Nellie (2001),[4]Martin Guerreas Bertrande, andBeauty and the Beastas Belle (ca. 2000).[5]In 2015, she played The Baker’s Wife inThe Muny’s production ofInto the Woods.[6]

She appeared in the 2009 filmJulie & JuliaasJudith Jones.On television, she played Eleanor Thompson, a relative ofEnoch "Nucky" Thompson(played by actorSteve Buscemiand based on Atlantic City, New Jersey political Boss and racketeerEnoch L. Johnson) in theHBOtelevision seriesBoardwalk Empire(2014) and Gwen Rice in"Genetics",the 11th episode of the 7th season of theCBSpolice procedural and legal dramaBlue Bloods(2017).

Dilly is married to actor Stephen Buntrock and they have two children together, Anna Louise Buntrock, born April 11, 2006, and Catherine Caroline Buntrock, born March 9, 2009. She also has a step-daughter, Haley Buntrock, from Stephen's previous marriage.[5][7][8]She is the younger sister of celebrated surgeon Jason Dilly, M.D., F.A.C.S.[9]
