Thefascia of perineum(deep perineal fascia,superficial investing fascia of perineumorGallaudet fascia) is thefasciawhich covers the muscles of thesuperficial perineal pouch.The muscles surrounded by the deep perineal fascia are thebulbospongiosus,ischiocavernosus,andsuperficial transverse perineal. The fascia is attached laterally to theischiopubic ramiand fused anteriorly with thesuspensory ligament of the penisorclitoris.It is continuous anteriorly with thedeep investing fasciaof the abdominal wall muscles, and in males, it is continuous withBuck's fascia.
