Flutrimazoleis a wide-spectrumantifungaldrug. It is used for the topical treatment of superficialmycosesof theskin.Flutrimazole is animidazolederivative. Its antifungal activity has been demonstrated inin vivoandin vitrostudies to be comparable to that ofclotrimazoleand higher thanbifonazole.[1]

Mechanism of action

It interferes with the synthesis ofergosterolby inhibiting the activity of theenzymelanosterol 14 α-demethylase.[citation needed]
