Franziska Christina Brigitte Hoppermann(néeBartels,born 8 January 1982) is a German civil servant and politician of theChristian Democratic Union(CDU) who has been serving as a member of theBundestagsince the2021 elections,representing theHamburg-Wandsbekdistrict.[1][2]
Political career

[edit]Ahead of the2020 state elections,CDU candidateMarcus Weinbergincluded Hoppermann in hisshadow cabinetfor the party's campaign to unseatFirst Mayor of HamburgPeter Tschentscher.[3][4]
Member of the German Parliament, 2021–present
[edit]Hoppermann became a member of the German Bundestag in the2021 national elections,representing theHamburg-Wandsbekdistrict. In parliament, she has since been serving on the Committee on Digital Affairs and the Budget Committee's Subcommittee on European Affairs.[5]
Ahead of the Christian Democrats' leadership election in 2022, Hoppermann publicly endorsedNorbert Röttgento succeedArmin Laschetas the party's chair and joined his campaign team.[6]
Personal life
[edit]Hoppermann is married and has a son. Her grandfatherCarl Dammsat in theHamburg Parliamentand was also aMember of the Bundestag.[7]
