Fred Wise(May 27, 1915 – January 18, 1966)[1]was the co-writer of the lyrics to the1948song "'A' — You're Adorable"withBuddy KayeandSid Lippman.[2]He subsequently wrote many of the songs sung byElvis Presleyin hismovies.Wise attendedColumbia universityand graduated in 1935. He was of Jewish descent.[3]

Many of his songs were collaborations withKay TwomeyandBen Weisman,sometimes with additional collaborators. (see "Wooden Heart"and"In the Beginning.")
