TheFront for the Liberation of the Golanis a guerrilla organization formed bySyriain July 2006 shortly after the2006 Lebanon War,viewed by Syria as a victory byHezbollahover Israel. Its aim is to recover theGolan HeightsfromIsraelthrough a military campaign.

The force is trained byHezbollah,which in turn was trained byIran.[1] It is made up of hundreds of Syrian volunteers[2]andPalestinian refugeesliving in theDamascusarea.[3][4]
