Gimhae(Korean:김해,pronounced[kim(ɦ)ɛ]) is acityinSouth Gyeongsang Province,South Korea,situated near theNakdong River.
It is the seat of the largeGimhae Kimclan, one of the largestKimclans in Korea, claiming descent from the ancient royal house ofGeumgwan Gaya.[1]Gimhae is also the birthplace of the lateRoh Moo-hyun,formerpresident of South Korea.
The city has aK3 Leaguesoccer club calledGimhae FC.The largest foreign sports club in Gimhae is the Gimhae Semi-Athletic Club (G-SAC) located in the Nae-dong neighbourhood.

Climate
[edit]Gimhae has ahumid subtropical climate(Köppen:Cwa,bordering onCfa) with very warm summers and cold winters. Due to the influence of its coastal climate, Gimhae is the mildest region in Korea. The annual average temperature is around 15 °C, and annual average precipitation is 1,200 mm, which is very close to the Korean average of 1,274 mm.[2]

Airport
[edit]Gimhae International Airportis just east of Gimhae (in Gangseo-gu, Busan) and has 9.17 million annual users. Various conveniences, especially those for the disabled, will be expanded step by step.[5]
Railways
[edit]Gimhae has two stations on theGyeongjeon Line;Hallimjeong station(한림정역) andJinyeong station(진영역). TheBusan–Gimhae Light Rail Transit,which opened in September 2011, connects the city to Busan viathe airport.It connects to theBusan MetronetworkatDaejeo(대저), and
atSasang(사상). The closestKTXstation from Gimhae isGupo stationin Busan.
Floricultural industry
[edit]Gimhae has spacious flower gardens. Busan and its neighbor cities have exported large amounts of flowers.
Gimhae farming center exploited to develop independent Korean roses called Spray.[6]
