"Grace, Too"is a song by Canadian rock bandThe Tragically Hip.It was released in September 1994 as the lead single from their fourth studio album,Day for Night.The song peaked at number 11 on theRPMCanadian Singles chart.[1]

Live performances

In 1995, The Tragically Hip performed the song onSaturday Night Live.The band also opened theirWoodstock 1999performance with this song.[2]

During live performances,Gord Downiefrequently replaced the opening line, "He said I'm fabulously rich" with "He said I'm Tragically Hip", often to applause from the crowd.

In 2011, the song was covered bySelina Martinfor the firstHave Not Been the Samecharity compilation.[3]

Singer-songwriterJustin Rutledgecovered the song for his 2014 albumDaredevil,an album consisting entirely of Tragically Hip covers.[4]

Following Downie's death in October 2017, country singerDallas Smithperformed the song during his concert at Kingston'sK-Rock Centreon October 19.[5]

On October 11, 2018, six days before the one-year anniversary of Downie's death, Johnny Fay and Rob Baker joinedChoir! Choir! Choir!atYonge-Dundas Squarefor a live performance of the song.[6]

The song was covered byTwin Flameson their 2020 albumOmen.[7]

On September 5, 2024, it was one of three songs, alongside "Ahead by a Century"and"Bobcaygeon",performed by Choir! Choir! Choir! in a public singalong following the premiere of the documentary seriesThe Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsalat the2024 Toronto International Film Festival.[8]
