GrassrootsPAwas a political news website centered on thepolitics of Pennsylvania.It was founded in 2004 by then law studentChris Lilik,aPat Toomeysupporter and became a "must-click resource" for Pennsylvania's conservative community.[1]Even though Toomey lost that race, the website continued as a gathering place for conservatives and Specter's foes.[2]The website also gainedmainstream mediaattention as a source of breaking political news.[3][4]Political commentatorChris Bravacosnoted that GrassrootsPA attracted significantly higher readership than the official websites for the two major political parties.[5]

During the public outcry following the2005 Pennsylvania legislative pay raise,GrassrootsPA served as a focal point for reform activists.[6]The American Spectatorcalled GrassrootsPA a "flashpoint of this conservative revolution" inPennsylvania.[7]

In 2010,Politics Magazinedescribed GrassrootsPA as "Pennsylvania'sDrudge Report."[8]
