Grubbingorclearingis the removal oftrees,shrubs,stumpsandrubbishfrom a site. This is often at the site where atransportationorutility corridor,aroadorpower line,anedificeor agardenis to be constructed. Grubbing is performed followingclearanceof trees to their stumps, precedingconstruction.[1]

Inanimal behaviourgrubbing is afeeding technique,referring todigginganduprootingofrootsandrhizomesofplants.It is employed bygeese,especiallygreaterandlesser snow geeseandCanada geese,[2]as well asswine.[3]
