Guy Boyd(born April 15, 1943) is an American actor, who has appeared in over 150 stage and screen productions since the late 1970's.[1][2][3][4]He is best known to film audiences for hischaracter roles.He won theVolpi Cup for Best Actorfor his performance inRobert Altman's adaptation ofDavid Rabe's playStreamers(1983),[5]and was nominated for theGenie Award for Best Performance by a Foreign ActorforTicket to Heaven(1981).
Life and career[edit]
Boyd was born inDu Quoin, Illinoisand raised there and inChicago.He began his work as a stage actor inOff-BroadwayandBroadwayplays.[4]
In 1983, he was honored at theVenice Film Festivalwith theVolpi Cup for Best Actorfor his role inRobert Altman's adaptation ofDavid Rabe's playStreamers(1983).[6]He played Detective Jim McLean inBody Double(1984), and the pivotal role of Frank Hackman on two episodes ofMiami Vice.He had the regular role of Captain Stickland on the 1990s superhero seriesBlack Scorpion.
In recent years Boyd was seen playing Archbishop Kurtwell (aCatholicprelate accused of child sexual abuse) on theHBOdramaThe Young Pope.He also starred as Guy Canape inPast Midnightand the janitor inI’m Thinking of Ending Things.

Boyd was previously married to actress and dancer Sissy Boyd. They have two children together, including actorJohn Boyd.
