HD 1185is adouble star[11]in the northernconstellationofAndromeda.The primary, with an apparent magnitude of 6.15, is awhite main-sequence starof spectral type A2VpSi,[5]indicating it has strongersiliconabsorption linesthan usual, thus making it also anAp star.[6]The secondary companion, which is 9.08 arcseconds away, is not visible to the naked eye at an apparent magnitude of 9.76. It shares commonproper motionandparallaxwith the primary star[10]but orbital parameters are still unknown.
