Haimon Painter

TheHaimon painterwas a anonymous 5th-century BCAncient Greekpainter and draughtsman, so named byC.H.E. HaspelsandJohn Beazleyon account of a recurring subject in hisblack-figure vase painting—theSphinxand its victim, the last of whom—according to a Greek myth—wasHaimon.His name is unknown, but individual characteristics of style suggest the existence of a unique artistic personality. He specialized mostly inlekythoiand was closely related in manner to other contemporaryAthenianvase-painters.[1][2]
