AHemingway specialis an all day cocktail based on theFloriditadaiquiri[1]and is recognised by theIBA.It is made withrum,lime juice,maraschinoliqueur, andgrapefruit juiceand served in adouble cocktail glass.[2][3]
History[edit]
Ernest Hemingway,who stayed in Cuba, tried theFloridita's signature drink, the Floridita daiquiri, and said "That's good but I prefer it without sugar and double rum,"[1]which became a cocktail now known as the Hemingway daiquiri or the Papa Doble.[4]This recipe was later modified further, adding grapefruit juice to the mix, at which point the drink was dubbed the "Hemingway special".[1]
