HephzibahorHepzibah(English:/ˈhɛfzɪbə/or/ˈhɛpzɪbə/;Hebrew:חֶפְצִי־בָהּ,romanized:Ḥep̄ṣi-ḇāh,lit.'my delight (is) in her') is a minor figure in theBooks of Kingsin theHebrew Bible.She was the wife ofHezekiah,king of Judah(reignedc.715 and 686 BCE), and the mother ofManasseh of Judah(reignedc.687–643 BCE).

Hephzibah is depicted in2 Kings 21:1.According toRabbinic literature,Isaiahwas the maternal grandfather of Manasseh.[1]

Symbolic name

The name Hephzibah is also used as a symbolic name forZionfollowing its restoration to the favor ofYahwehinIsaiah 62:4.[2]
