InGreek mythology,Hicetaon(Ancient Greek:ἹκετάοναorἹκετάονος) may refer to:
- Hicetaon, a Trojan prince as the son of KingLaomedonofTroy,thus a brother of KingPriam.[1]He was one of the Trojan elders.[2]AfterPariskidnappedHelen of Troy,Hicetaon suggested that she be returned toMenelausto avoid war. His sons were:Melanippus,who died in thewarHicetaon had sought to avert;[3]Critolaus,husband of Priam's daughterAristomache;[4]Thymoetes(in theAeneidonly, otherwise given as his brother);[5]and, possibly,Antenor.[6]
- Hicetaon, prince ofMethymnainLesbos.He was the son of KingLepetymnusandMethymna,daughter of KingMacareus.[7]He was killed byAchilles,when the latter attacked the islands close to the mainland.[8]
