Hiroyuki Kimura(Mộc thôn hạo chi,Kimura Hiroyuki,born June 1, 1965)is a Japanese video game director and producer who works forNintendo.[1]Kimura joined the company as a trainee in 1988, and designed the characters ofSuper Mario Bros. 3.[2]After that, he was originally assigned toGunpei Yokoiand theNintendo R&D1team. Kimura designed a variety of games for Nintendo including several of theNES Zappersoftware and theMetroidseries. Shortly after working onSuper Metroid,Kimura was transferred toShigeru Miyamotoand theNintendo EADgroup.[1][3]
He is also the manager ofNintendo'sEntertainment Planning & Development(EPD) Group No. 10, which oversees theSuper Mario2D games and thePikminfranchise.
