Houndéis acitylocated in theprovinceofTuy(of which it is the capital) in theHauts-Bassins RegionofBurkina Faso.It is situated about 100 kilometres (62 mi) east by northeast ofBobo-Dioulassoalong the trunk road Route Nationale N1 toOuagadougou.
Houndé is the site ofHoundé Mine,a majorgold minethat is mostly owned byEndeavour Mining.[2][3]
